The SU Campus

Syracuse University has a longstanding tradition of school spirit and excellence in academics. The university has been consistently rated as a “top national university” and “top college value” by U.S. News & World Report and is one of only 60 universities in the country to be invited into the Association of American Universities.

The Quad

The Quad is located at the heart of campus, creating a crossroads between the different sections. It is very dear to students, alumni, faculty, and staff and often acts as a meeting place.

Athletics and Student Activities

With more than 50 registered student clubs and organizations at SU, there is something for everyone. From volunteering in the community to developing a new skill, the University offers special interest groups within each college and throughout the entire university.

The campus is also home to three athletic facilities including Archbold and Flanagan Gymnasiums, and the Women’s Building. These facilities house a variety of athletic equipment, two full-length swimming pools, aerobic classes, and dance studios. The facilities also holds late night classes between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. where students can learn new dance styles, yoga, Tai Chi, and juggling.

Students can also participate in more than 20 different intramural sports offered during both the fall and spring semesters.

With multiple nationally ranked Division 1 sports teams, SU has strong school spirit for their teams. The Carrier Dome is conveniently located directly on SU’s campus and is the home to men’s and women’s basketball, football, and lacrosse. Student tickets are offered for a lower price to each game.

Marshall Street

Every SU student knows Marshall Street – it’s located directly beside campus and is the location for grabbing a bite to eat between classes. Marshall Street boasts 26 take-out and dine-in restaurants, and after eating, it’s the perfect place to buy SU apparel at one of the 15 different shops and boutiques. Starbucks and the Marshall Street Mall, which includes Follett’s Bookstore and even more dining options, are also located on Marshall Street.
