Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises

Distinguished Scholars Award

Each year, Whitman's EEE faculty recognize outstanding scholars within the field as the Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar. These are individuals who have distinguished themselves with significant publications on topics critical to the advancement of entrepreneurship as a discipline and produce work that has had a major impact on theory advancement, entrepreneurial practice, and/or public policy efforts that encourage entrepreneurial activity.

The recipient of the Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar visits the campus in the fall semester, gives a research presentation that is open to the campus, meets individually with faculty members, and conducts a discussion session with doctoral students.

The 2010 Falcone Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar is:

Mike Wright, Professor of Financial Studies at Nottingham University Business School and visiting professor at Erasmus University, EMLyon and University of Ghent. He is Director of the Centre for Management Buy-out Research, which he founded in 1986.
