• Recipient of a grant from the FDIC's Center for Financial Research to support research on operational losses and credit risk. The proposal was one of nine selected for 2008 funding. It is based on joint research with Yu, F., from Michigan State University.

• Recipient of the Gerald R. Brown 2003 Award for Best Paper on “Real Estate and Finance”

• Awarded a visiting researcher position at Microsoft Corporation, working at Search Labs at Mountain View on large scale time series modeling.
• Awarded a research grant for "Real-Time Adaptive Pattern Matching" from JPMorgan Chase.

• 2008 Wheeler award from Numeric Investors
• 2007 Crowell third prize from PanAgora Asset Management
• 2001 award for best paper in the area of investments from the American Association of Individual Investors

• Awarded the Thomas Finucane Award for Exceptional Scholarship, 2009
