The Retail Association
The Retail Association at the Whitman School of Management focuses on building upon student’s classroom knowledge of the retail industry through experiential learning and networking opportunities. With an open membership extended to all Syracuse University students interested in the field, one of the organization’s main goals is to provide students with various networking opportunities both with each other and industry professionals. Professionals in the field, including alumni and friends of Whitman, often participate in club activities holding discussions with members about internship and career opportunities.

Faculty advisor: Professor Amanda Nicholson, agnichol@syr.edu
Student president: Francesca Tizzano, fktizzan@syr.edu

Membership benefits:
The Whitman Retail Association invites all members to attend an annual leadership conference held at SU's Minnowbrook Conference Center in the Adriondacks. Here students meet with industry professionals and attend workshops on relevant topics within the field of retail including conflict resolution, diversity, and ethics. Retail Association members also to have the rewarding experience of working together as a group on community service projects. In the past this has included involvement in the walk for breast cancer, the Relay for Life, and working with Comstock Kids, a special project of Syracuse Habitat for Humanity.

Annual fee: There is an initial membership fee of $20 and a $15 fee for each subsequent year. Fees help fund the leadership conference in the Adirondacks, social activities, and association T-shirts.
