Resources

Whitman's strength and standing in supply chain management rest on a long history and unique resources. Since 1951, Whitman has granted the coveted Salzberg Medallion for achievement in transportation, logistics, distribution, and supply chain management. Several endowed centers within Whitman support teaching and leading-edge research in the field and maintain a focused collection of periodicals and books.

The H.H. Franklin Center for Supply Chain Management, which is one of the earliest endowed transportation programs in the nation, and the Robert H. Brethen Operations Management Institute bring students, scholars, and practitioners together in productive forums and projects of common interest. A number of internships and fellowships are available to qualifying students through the institutes as well as other sources. In addition, students have the opportunity to become involved with the Institute for Manufacturing Enterprises, which includes a laboratory hosting SAP R/3 and SAP's Advanced Planning and Optimization module.
