How to become a member or learn more about the student APCIS group

Saturday 4/26/08, 10a – 2p: Once a semester we offer a prep class for the first APICS exam called the Basics of Supply Chain Management. In this prep class we go over how to sign up for the exam, review ways to study for the test and go over the material that will be on it. Students must sign up to attend. A signup sheet will be posted outside room 505.

Friday 3/24/08, 12:30p – 3:30p. Plainville Turkey Farms. Sign up sheets will be posted at room 505 or on the APICS blackboard.

Thursday 2/15/08, 1:00p – 3:00p. Tour of PPC. Sign up sheets will be posted at room 505 or on the APICS blackboard.

Saturday 12/1/07, 10a – 2p: Once a semester we offer a prep class for the first APICS exam called the Basics of Supply Chain Management. In this prep class we go over how to sign up for the exam, review ways to study for the test and go over the material that will be on it. The class is being held on December 1st from 10:00 to 2:00 in room 104. Students must sign up to attend. A signup sheet has been posted outside room 505.

Friday 10/19/2007, Our first tour is scheduled for October 19th from
12:00 (departure) to 4:00 (return to the school) at the Marietta
Corporation. Marietta is the #1 personal care amenity supplier in the
world and is located in Cortland, New York. Sign up sheets are located
at room 505 or on blackboard.

Saturday 4/28/2007, 10:00a - 2:00p: We will be hold an APICS study session for the Basics of Supply Chain Management CPIM exam. Lunch will be provided. A signup sheet has been posted in Suite 111. Prior to the session, it is a good idea to review APICS certification study materials that are available on reserve at Bird library - go to the library home page >> SUMMIT Catalog >> Course Reserves, then select APICS as the course and available materials will be displayed.

12/8/2006 and 12/9/2006, 9a - 3p: We will be holding a Certified Purchasing Manager's class for all four exams. Student cost is $300.00 - sign up with Pat Penfield.

Friday 12/1/2006: We will be touring Hand Held Products. Sign up with Shannon in room 120 (Whitman) if you are interested.

Friday 10/20/2006: Our first tour of the year will be at Beak & Skiff farms in Lafayette, New York. We will be touring their operations in addition to picking apples afterwards. It's October 20th and the bus leaves at 1:00pm (we should be back between 3:30 - 4:00pm). Sign up with Shannon in room 120 (Whitman) if you are interested.

APICS classes for CPIM exam: The APICS Parent Chapter is offering a Basics of Supply Chain Management class every Thursday starting October 12th for ten weeks from 3:00 pm to 5:00pm in room 525 (Whitman). We are offering 7 free spots in this class (value of $660.00 per spot). This class will prepare you for the first APICS exam. You need to sign up with Shannon in room 120. You must be an APICS member to receive this free benefit and this is a first come first served situation.

Friday 9/22/2006: We are going to hold our APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Organizational Meeting on 9/22/06 at 2:30pm in room 525, School of Management. Pizza, wings and soda will be provided. Please join us!
