Director of Global Supply Chain Technical Engineering (11/21/07). A $2 Bill dollar division of a fortune 50 organization, recognized as a leader in their industry is adding a key position for a Director, Global Supply Chain technical Engineering. The position will be in Kansas. It will have executive level benefits and perks with a highly competitive pay.  Responsibilities for this position include: Leads the development and implementation of the process and engineering strategies to achieve category strategic business and global strategic sourcing plans. Directs continual improvement of companies worldwide manufacturing with a focus on equipment startup and reliability, engineering process flexibility and micro/quality integrity, as well as, support for capacity expansion, acquisitions, and new product initiatives. Ensures process, equipment, and operational specifications are consistent with, and support, Quality and EOHS Standards. Ensures efficient and timely documentation and/or transfer of manufacturing and engineering technologies throughout the companies world. Directs the improvement of the global SC engineering team by selecting, recruiting, developing, and retaining highly competent people, developing and implementing performance evaluation and succession planning programs for the department, and defines and realizes changes to the organizational structure as needed. Ensures manufacturing processes and equipment support of new product bundles to achieve target cost, and works to identify ongoing margin improvement opportunities. Ensures that product development addresses standardization and simplification for materials, formulas, manufacturing processes and packaging. Understands industry/competitive trends, consumer insight tools, market research methodologies and claim substantiation

Basic Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering. 10+ years of experience in Process Engineering. 4+ years of experience managing people, 4+ years of experience within the Food industry, or a related consumer goods industry. Ability to travel 10-25%. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Project Management/Project Engineering. Experience interfacing with the USDA and/or FDA. MBA. Ability to understand and develop an overall strategic view of the business as a whole. Results oriented and collaborative. Hands-on work style.

The requirements are excellent attention to detail, strong communication and follow up skills, very strong Excel understanding (the individual must be able to write, proof, and interpret complex formulae and macros in Excel) and the individual must be computer savvy. Demand planner position at Oxford University Press in NYC (2/28/07): Oxford University Press in New York has an opening for a Demand Planner. An ideal candidate is an undergrad who knows SAP and is interested to work in the publishing area. The person would likely be working on what is known as their "Trade" division, (their more popular titles) which would mean interacting with their marketing group, as well as some key customers (Barnes & Noble, etc) to work on supply chain issues.
