David Greenberg Fall 2009 NYC Field Trip

The David Greenberg Fall 2009 NYC Field Trip provided select Whitman students with a frontline perspective of the New York Mercantile Exchange on Dec 4. The trip was sponsored by David Greenberg '86 (VPA), president, Sterling Commodities, enabling Whitman to offer the trip free of charge to students, including transportation to and from Manhattan and the Mercantile Exchange, as well as lunch at NYMEX.

The students toured the New York Mercantile Exchange, the world’s largest physical commodity futures exchange and the preeminent trading forum for energy and precious metals. Students got an up-close look at the exciting trading floor operations, attended an informational seminar to learn more about the industry, and participated in a simulated trading experience on the trading floor.
