Start-Up NY
Start-Up NY ,funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) as part of the national Start-Up USA initiative, helps people with disabilities become self-employed. Start-Up NY is a partnership between the Onondaga County Office of Economic Development and Department of Social Services, Syracuse University’s Burton Blatt Institute Centers of Innovation on Disability, and the nationally ranked Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises in the Whitman School of Management.
A primary focus of Start-Up NY is to provide technical assistance and disseminate resources to individuals interested in pursuing self-employment. This includes an Extraordinary Speaker Series, where successful entrepreneurs who share their secrets for success.
