Event Description:

Assertiveness can be learned

Being a self-assured, confident communicator is a key leadership trait when running a successful business.  Knowing how to assert yourself effectively in personal and professional situations is a valuable skill that can be learned.

Syracuse University is offering an Assertiveness in the Workplace course, which teaches powerful assertiveness skills that lead to more effective professional interactions. This 8-week, 3-credit class is completely online and runs July 3-August 25. Upon completion, students can choose to apply this course to a degree or certificate in Creative Leadership.

“I did not expect the profound impact this course would have on my future,” says Phoebe Steinfeld, a Syracuse University Newhouse graduate. “I learned concrete, enforceable skills I can utilize to further my career and strengthen interpersonal relationships,” she says, adding, “It’s given me the skills to become a more thoughtful and effective team player.”

Registration is underway for this class, which focuses on the communication and coaching skills that can boost your leadership abilities and confidence. New students who enroll for one class may be eligible for The UC Incentive Grant, which offers a 50% tuition reduction.
