Lean Management and Lean Champion

Lean Champion
The Syracuse University Lean Champion Program is designed to enable organizations to develop and successfully implement lean enterprise skills without the heavy reliance on outside resources. The Lean Champion Program is most appropriate for companies at the beginning-to-intermediate stages of systematic, process-oriented, results driven change that are motivated to reach the next level of self-sufficiency.

The SU Lean Champion Program is designed:

  • To facilitate the development of company-sponsored key individuals in the understanding and successful application of Lean Enterprise tools and techniques
  • As a multi-step, hands-on process, spanning four months
  • To build strong bonds between the Lean Champions and Executive Lean Sponsors
  • To identify and implement an actual project of significant impact at your own business location, in conjunction with an Executive Lean Sponsor.

To become qualified, each Lean Champion must clearly demonstrate their ability to apply a wide variety of business assessment, planning, and implementation tools and techniques resulting in a minimum of in realized, bottom line savings of $25,000-$100,000.

The Executive Sponsors play an active role in the process to ensure long term sustainability. Executive Lean Sponsors from various companies will spend time together networking and strengthening their skills for effective change leadership.
