Accelerated Admission Process
If you possess a bachelor’s degree in business or management from an accredited college or university in the United States; have four or more years of full-time post-baccalaureate work experience; and submit a GMAT score of 650 or higher, you may apply for admission to Whitman’s Accelerated MBA program. The Whitman Accelerated MBA program is rigorous and extremely demanding. All entering students are expected to be computer literate and possess a working knowledge of the Windows operating system and a spreadsheet package, preferably Excel.
Admission to the Whitman Accelerated MBA program is highly selective. Acceptance is based primarily on the potential to contribute and excel in the classroom and the potential to succeed in a management career.
We evaluate intellectual compatibility and academic potential through an in-depth review of the applicant’s prior educational record including course selection, major, academic trends, and undergraduate institution as well as performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). A minimum GMAT score of 650 is required for eligibility for the Accelerated MBA program. However, no admission formula is employed in the decision making process.
The Whitman Accelerated MBA program features extensive small-group work and opportunities to develop teamwork skills. Students must therefore possess well developed interpersonal and communication skills. To assess these, we pay special attention to the written essays and the applicant’s ability to communicate clearly, succinctly, and persuasively. For international applicants we also consider the scores achieved on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Potential for success in management and the applicant’s organizational, managerial, and administrative skills are assessed by a review of the applicant’s employment history, including summer internships and letters of recommendation. |
