Career Education Workshops
The Whitman Career Center staff develops, sponsors and teaches career-related educational classes, offering students instruction on pertinent issues for a graduate level job search. These workshops include, but are not restricted to, resume development, correspondence writing, networking, and interviewing. Programming is offered during orientation week, and through the academic year.

Personal Coaching Sessions
The counseling team of the Whitman Career Center is available by appointment to discuss issues related to career search. These one-one coaching appointments provide the opportunity for students to refine communication skills or develop a career search strategy, thereby setting the foundation for a highly successful job search.

Job Posting Board/Corporate Contacts
The Syracuse University job posting board, OrangeLink, lists information related to job postings for all Syracuse students, and offers a career search management system for students. Students have the ability to apply to job postings, and specialty resume books are developed on this system, which are shared with national recruiters. Students have access to corporate contacts through this database to support their independent job search.

On-Campus Recruiting and Career Fairs
The Whitman Career Center invites employers to participate in recruiting students through career fairs and personal meetings. These events take place through the fall and spring semesters, which coincides with recruiting cycles for corporations. Application and registration is completed through the OrangeLink system.

National Databases
The Bird Library, in partnership with the Whitman School, maintains a variety of subscriptions to database resources that afford a student detailed to in-depth information about industries, companies and contacts. Reference librarian, Jenna Mayotte, specializes in business topics, and is available to tutor students on relevant resources available at the Bird Library.
