Clubs & Social Activities

Whitman Graduate Student Organization
Whitman Graduate Student Organization (WGSO) in collaboration with the Graduate Programs Office makes tremendous efforts to provide students the opportunity to engage socially with each other and Whitman faculty and staff. The Annual Spring Dinner and Awards Banquet, International Day, social gatherings at bars and restaurants on Marshall Street or Armory Square, community service, and the annual Case Competition are just some of the ways Whitman MBAs have fun.

Student Clubs and Organizations
Whitman is also home to many student clubs and organizations, providing MBA students ample opportunity to learn more about a specific industry and network with business professionals in informal settings. In addition to the WGSO, Whitman student clubs include:

The E Club – Dedicated to the spirit of entrepreneurship among the Syracuse University student body and to supporting the needs of students who are interested in entrepreneurship.

International Business Association - Strives to promote interest in the international business environment.

Real Estate Club - Provides a forum for students with an interest in real estate to learn more about the industry.

Net Impact - An international nonprofit organization with a mission is to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world.

Students in Free Enterprise
– A global non-profit organization that helps students develop communication skills through learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise on their campuses, in their communities, and beyond.

Whitman Consulting Club
- Allows students to gain real world experience through consulting engagements.

Whitman Women in Business
- Seeks to foster women’s involvement in the business community.

MBA Sports Activities
Whitman MBA students also team up with other colleges and schools on the SU campus for friendly but competitive games of kickball and dodgeball as well as intramural sports, such as basketball, soccer, and football. These give students a chance to meet fellow graduate students in other disciplines around campus.
