Many Whitman MBA students participate in special summer programs through SU Abroad , which gives students the chance to take on internship assignments in London, Madrid, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and elsewhere. One of the more unique programs allows students to participate in a special six-week entrepreneurship program in Cape Town, South Africa, which joins student consulting teams with small businesses to help make the ventures sustainable. These programs may fulfill a portion of the MBA experiential learning requirement.
Whitman MBAs also have the opportunity to experience how business is conducted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates or Johannesburg, South Africa. As part of these programs, students take a course that examines the region’s business environment, including the institutional, social, religious, and cultural contexts and how they affect business practices. In addition, students learn about business opportunities as well as the challenges of doing business in these regions.
