Whitman MBAs compete in Rutgers SCM/marketing science case competition

Four Whitman MBA students competed in Rutgers University’s Supply Chain Management and Marketing Science Case Competition on Friday, April 5, 2013 in New Brunswick, NJ.

The team, consisting of students Carlos Ferrari, Amruta Ghodke, Mohit Mathur and Preston Oakley, presented “VASTA Wireless – Push vs. Pull Distribution Strategies.” The team was led by Scott Webster, professor of supply chain management at the Whitman School.

Sponsors and judges for the annual competition included Deloitte Consulting, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Novartis and Verizon. The MBA student teams were eligible to win $750 (1st place) and $500 (2nd place). Penn State’s Smeal College of Business took first place, while Rutgers placed second. Other participating schools included Lehigh University, University of Maryland and NJIT.

Although the Whitman team did not place in this year’s competition, Whitman has a history of recent successes at this event. Whitman MBAs placed first in the competition in 2011. In 2010, they received a $250 prize.
