Whitman alumni group to host "Meet the Dean" event in NYC

On Wednesday, December 11, the Martin J. Whitman School of Management and WhitmanNYC are hosting a reception for “Generation Orange” (Syracuse University graduates within the past 10 years) to welcome Dean Kenneth A. Kavajecz to the Whitman School. The reception will be held at the Syracuse University Lubin House in New York City from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to be among the first alumni to hear Dean Kavajecz speak about his vision for Whitman and its students and alumni. A networking reception will follow the dean’s remarks. The event is free for Generation Orange and WhitmanNYC members.

Dean Kavajecz joined the Whitman School as dean on July 1, 2013 after a nationwide search. Kavajecz holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.S. and Ph.D. in finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has served as the associate dean for the undergraduate and MBA programs at the Wisconsin School of Business. Under his leadership, the MBA program moved into the top 25. Kavajecz comes highly recommended as an ethical, passionate and decisive leader, and someone who has earned the respect of his faculty as both a leader and a scholar.
