Michael Harney ’10 BS, a supply chain management major in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, has won the prestigious 2009 Rhoda Isaacs Scholarship from the New York City Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Harney was also named as the NYC Roundtable’s Student Representative for the CSCMP Annual Conference in 2009.

The Rhoda Isaacs Scholarship is dedicated to undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in supply chain or logistics management. The scholarship helps further the CSCMP’s educational goals and support the academic development of students seeking a career in these fields.

Harney was also awarded the annual Robert H. Brethen Scholarship through the Brethen Operations Management Institute in the Whitman School. The prestigious award, given to an outstanding junior majoring in operations management or supply chain management, comes with a $10,000 scholarship and recognition from the academic and business communities. Harney was selected as the winner for his excellence in academic achievement and professional experience in supply chain management.

Originally from Clifton Park, N.Y., Harney is completing an internship at Pratt & Whitney this summer, working on reorganizing material flows into and out of the company’s maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) facility in Cheshire, Conn.
