Yes
4. Will financial aid be sufficient to cover both tuition and living expenses?
Yes, for a student life-style. We guarantee funding through a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for four years at approximately $17,000 (2007-08) plus a full-tuition scholarship of up to 24 credits per academic year, subject to satisfactory performance.
5. Is any other score accepted instead of GMAT?
To be given the highest priority in the admission process, we require the GMAT but we will also accept GRE scores of 600 or above.
6. What is the average GMAT score?
It has been 680 in the last few years.
7. What is the minimum GMAT score required?
The minimum GMAT score is 600 on the paper test and is valid for five years.
8. Is admission permitted in both the Fall and Spring semesters?
Fall only
9. What should I do if I want to apply for financial aid?
Everyone is automatically considered for financial assistance (such as Graduate Teaching Assistantships).
10. How many students do you admit?
The number of students admitted varies from year to year.
11. Do I need to take the TOEFL or the TSE or both?
The TOEFL is required for students whose native language is not English. If you have already taken the TSE or plan to, you can send a copy along with the TOEFL. The TOEFL can be waived if you have graduated from a college/university within the United States.
12. What is the minimum TOEFL score required?
600 on paper test.
250 on computer test.
100 on internet test (iBT)
13. When are applications due?
January 10 to be considered for the Syracuse University Graduate Fellowship and the University African American Fellowship competitions, both worth approximately $18,000 per year; otherwise February 15.
14. Is medical insurance available?
Subsidized medical insurance is available at the University employee rate for GA/TAs. Cost will depend upon the insurance package selected and the number insured. Current rates and options are available at http://humanresources.syr.edu/benefits/
