Hailing from Anaheim, Calif., Elizabeth Hickey completed both a BS in accounting (CPA track) and an MS in accounting before leaving the Whitman School. Elizabeth says, “Coming to Whitman was the best decision I could have made. The facility is state of the art and the faculty are truly amazing. I felt like part of the family from the first day.”
Hickey recounts her most rewarding experiences at Whitman as serving as a teaching assistant for undergraduate accounting courses—teaching 60 students for two hours each week—and the opportunity to run a tutoring program as president of Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honorary society for business students and scholars.
Upon graduating, Elizabeth moved to Boston to start her accounting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax associate. “The relationship the school and career center have with the company made the recruiting process very simple," she says, "and I truthfully feel that my time at Whitman has prepared me for my career.”
