Management
Specialized skills and concepts are needed to manage people and an organization. The management major in Whitman combines courses in personnel and organziational behavior along with strategic management and legal courses that prepare students to guide organizations and the people within them. The knowledge and practices developed in the courses allow Whitman graduates to analyze and use all the organizational processes and resources necessary to manage their positions and other employees.
Whitman's management major is designed to prepare students for management and professional positions that involve both macro- and micro-organizational positions and systems in corporations and their environments. Many students at Whitman desire to join management training programs at multi-national corporations, non-profit organizations, or the professional consulting firms that serve these global corporations.
