Whitman Launches Wall Street Breakfast
|
On September 19, the Whitman School will launch The Wall Street Breakfast Series, a regular gathering of Whitman alumni and friends who will be treated to keynote addresses by highly respected individuals in the business world. The first keynote address, "The Outlook for the United States Equity Market," will be given by Steven G. Einhorn of Omega Advisors. Einhorn is vice chairman with Omega Advisors, and became limited partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co in 1998. The Wall Street Breakfast Series will be held at Syracuse University's Lubin House, located at 11 East 61st Street in New York City. iMBAs Start Alumni Club |
Whitman's iMBA alumni are launching an official Syracuse University alumni club just for iMBA graduates on September 30 in New York City. The initial club meeting will be held on the 30th at SU's Lubin House, followed by a group dinner at Maloney & Porcelli sponsored by the Whitman School (guests welcome, $60 fee). The following day, an initial Board of Directors Meeting will take place at the New York Palace Hotel, followed by a champagne brunch for board members sponsored by the Whitman School (guests welcome, $50 fee). Whitman faculty continue to lead in their fields, as evidenced by several best paper awards over the summer. Tridib Mazumdar, Howard R. Gendal Professor of Marketing and associate dean for faculty development and research received “Best Paper” honors in the Retailing and Pricing Track at the American Marketing Association’s Summer Marketing Educators' Conference for his paper "Impact of Price Sensitivity and Relative Value Advantage on Optimal Brand Price Under Competition." Frances Zollers, professor of law and public policy in the Department of Management, won the Best Technology Law Case award in the Technology Law Section Case Writing Competition at the 81st Annual Conference of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business for her case "HeartWine." David Wilemon, the Snyder Professor of Innovation Management, received the Knut Holt Award for the best paper at the XVII International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) for his paper "New Product Development Entry Strategies as Mediators of New Product Quality and the Performance of NPD Technical Activities." Congratulations to all!
