Whitman Class Notes

We welcome and are grateful for your involvement with Whitman, whether it's by identifying talented prospective students, recruiting for interns and graduates, or supporting the priorities of the Whitman School. Together we are accomplishing great things! And Whitman would like to continue to hear about your great accomplishments, both personal and professional. Please send your news to magazine@mail.whitman.syr.edu if you'd like to submit a new class note for the Alumni Portfolio section of the next issue of Whitman magazine. We look forward to hearing from you!

New Whitman Website

I am pleased to announce that the Whitman School has a new website: www.whitman.syr.edu. Nearly a year in the making, this new site represents the mission of the Whitman School--to offer a cutting-edge, relevant business education in a student-friendly, technology-rich, and internationally-focused environment. The new Whitman website was designed with prospective students, corporate recruiters, and alumni and friends in mind, and has a variety of interactive new media features that effectively harness the most current and state-of-the-art technologies. Please take a few moments to browse through the site--and feel free to make it your default homepage!

Top Rankings for Whitman
More reasons for you to be proud of your alma mater: The Whitman School was ranked #41 nationwide for best business programs in US News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges 2008,” up from #42 last year.  US News also ranked our Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises program #9 nationwide. On the heels of this ranking came outstanding recognition in Fortune Small Business’s first-ever evaluation of the best colleges for entrepreneurs. Whitman was named among the ten best, and Fortune also recognized Mike Morris, the Chris J. Witting Chair in Entrepreneurship, among 18 teachers of entrepreneurship considered tops in the field, based on input by colleagues, students, and entrepreneurs.

Whitman/SU Varsity Throwback Jacket

The Whitman Alumni Club is sponsoring an exciting new fundraiser to help create scholarship opportunities for current Whitman students. The Syracuse University Varsity Throwback Jacket was designed by the alumni club to appeal to the larger SU community, and included is the option for proud alumni to have "Whitman School" custom-embroidered on the front of the jacket. For more information or to order your jacket, contact Gary La Point, assistant professor of supply chain management practice.
