C.W. Bud Cragin Memorial Scholarships SCM students: The C.W. Bud Cragin Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships of $500 - $1,000. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. The application due date is 3/31/2010. More information here. (2/1/10).
HAZMAT/IATA training on 2/6/2010: This training for HAZMAT/IATA certification is made available to students free of charge due to the generous support of alum Robert D'Avanzo. $5,000 Richter scholarship for SCM juniors: The R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation will provide a scholarship of up to $5,000 U.S. to individuals seeking education in the area of supply chain management for the 2010-2011 academic year. Eligible students will be entering their senior year and be enrolled full time in an accredited supply management program with the intention of specializing in the supply management profession. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, high ethical standards, and potential to become a future leader in the procurement field. Whitman ranked 9th in June 2009 AMR Research study. AMR Research surveyed 126 companies and 19 universities to determine which U.S.-based university supply chain programs are best preparing students to manage increasingly global, integrated supply chain organizations. (6/20/09)

$1,000 Rhoda Isaacs scholarship for SCM undergrads or grads: The New York City Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP-NYC) will be awarding (1) one scholarship for tuition reimbursement in the amount of $1,000 to an undergraduate or graduate student interested in pursuing a career in supply chain or logistics management. The purpose of this program is to further the Council’s educational goals while supporting the academic development of students seeking a career in this field. In addition, a student will be selected for attendence at the national CSCMP meeting in September 2009 - all expenses paid. The application due date is 4/15/2009. Fellowships at MIT's Master of Engineering in Logistics (MLOG) Program: Procter & Gamble Global Supply Chain Fellowship - (2 offered for 2009-2010 academic year). P&G has sponsored these and the selected fellows will work directly with P&G for their research thesis project. The fellowships are merit based and will be awarded based on past academic and work experience as well as future potential. We are especially interested in international students from Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia. These are half-tuition scholarships for the MLOG program. More information here.
Supply Chain Strategy Fellowship - (1 offered for the 2009-2010 academic year). This full-tuition fellowship is geared for students who already have an MBA and are interested in gaining a deeper expertise in Supply Chain Management. The fellowship is merit based and will be awarded based on past academic and work experience as well as future potential. More information here.

Cargo Business Newswire Top Ten For the week ending 03/29/07: #7. Hot commodity: supply chain expertise. Supply chain expertise is a hot commodity these days for companies. "Companies small and large are putting so much emphasis on supply chain today; it's created a lot of jobs," said Rick Yokeley, global logistics technology program coordinator at Forsyth Tech in Winston-Salem, NC. $10,000 SAP scholarships for undergrads: The SAP America scholarship program wishes to recognize outstanding undergraduate students pursuing a degree in business, computer science, mathematics or engineering. Each academic year, SAP will award up to 10 students with a $10,000 scholarship that is intended to assist students in defraying tuition expenses for that one academic year. Operation Stimulus case competition: Six of our undergraduate SCM students competed in the 26th annual Operation Stimulus case competition on January 25th. The competition is hosted by the Colorado Transportation Community and the Denver Transportation Club. The students this year were Becky Fowler, Margaret Wason, Lauren Maggio, Beth Bartnik, Danielle Smolinsky, and Jessica Altman. The first round results are:

The winning team from each room was selected to compete in the Final round on Friday, January 26th. The winner of the Final round and thus the competition this year was Ohio State. In addition to the competition student got to network with industry professionals, attend seminars and go on a field trip to a Corporate Express distribution center. Corporate is a large office supply and office furniture supplier. On Saturday students were treated to a fun day of skiing and site seeing at Winter Park Resort.

Gecowets scholarship for MBAs: This scholarship is for individuals who will be in a masters program in 2007-2008 academic year leading to a career in supply chain management disciplines.
