Launch Your Venture Many steps are involved in translating great ideas into great businesses. A key step is the creation of a business plan. A business plan attempts to address the uncertainties surrounding the many decisions you have to make about your businesses. It is a blueprint and a roadmap.
The Syracuse Panasci Business Plan Competition is a campus-wide student business plan competition, hosted by the Program in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University. |
The Competition
Any team of students from any school or college at Syracuse University is encouraged to enter. Individuals can also enter. The only requirements are that the team leader be enrolled as a student in an SU program, and that the submissions be the teams' own original work and ideas.
Get Help with Your Plan
The Program in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises will work with you to enhance your business plan. We offer a Business Plan Lab and mentoring from our experienced faculty members. We have online resources for creating your business plan and preparing financial statements. Special sessions with our partner accounting and law firms are offered and occasionally we run sessions with experts on subjects such as intellectual property issues and presenting your financials. We also keep a video library of presentations of former business plan competition teams.
Prizes
Prize money is awarded to the top three teams whose new venture ideas represent the best potential for growth and for attracting outside financing. Also, there will be a $1,000 Technology Prize sponsored by the SU Office of Technology Transfer. The ideas must be successfully communicated and presented to the independent panel of judges. See Rules section for specifics about collecting prize money.
All the winners need to submit their corporate documents and request prize money by December 31st of the year in which they won. Prize money not claimed by the December 31st deadline will be forfeited.
