Persons with such conditions, such as stroke and Parkinson's disease, cost the nation many billions of dollars every year in direct medical expenses.Our company will do so by filling in the expanding divide between therapists and patients that is expanding as costs continue to rise. This gap, namely time spent outside of rehabilitation, promises to be bridged by our novel technology, which combines music and biofeedback in intuitive portable devices. Our patent (pending) technology consists of devices which connect wirelessly to any popular mP3 player, such as an ipod. This device collects and records biofeedback data in real-time, which is generated by wireless shoe-insoles with sensors. Should a person walk incorrectly, the music’s rhythm will amplify and prompt the patient to walk in sync with the rhythm. Conversely, the music will play undisturbed when walking is optimal. Thus, this intuitive biofeedback method will take off where the therapist leaves by providing patients with real-time feedback as a safe therapeutic tool that will vastly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of rehabilitation. In addition to patients, therapists and third-party payers will greatly benefit from the cost-savings that BioRhythms will facilitate.
