Posted on: 12/5/2005

The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University is pleased to announce that a student consulting team from its Department of  Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises has won second place nationally in the annual consulting case competition run by the Small Business Institute (SBI). The entry was from the South Side Initiative, involving one of the firms on the South Side of the city of Syracuse that receives consulting assistance from a student team at the Whitman School.

Now in its 33rd year, the SBI sponsors a competition with entries from universities and colleges throughout the country. The top consulting project from each school first competes regionally, with regional winners competing for the national awards.

The winning Whitman team included Kendra Brody, Daisy Lopez, and Katherine Santiago. They were coached by Peter Svoboda, instructor in entrepreneurship and emerging enterprises in the Whitman School.
