Whitman Students Excel at National Competition

Five undergraduate students in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University were awarded third place in the 20th Annual New Ventures World Competition, sponsored by the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska. Whitman seniors Kevin Prince, Janet Levine, Evan Olesh, Alison Pellingra, and Emily Wasco made up team Logmedia, and were awarded $2,000 for their business plan.

Logmedia's business plan offers a more efficient and cost-effective process for logging video footage, currently a time consuming task for TV producers. The plan calls for producers to digitally upload video footage to a Logmedia server where certified loggers will notate the footage according to the producer's preferences.

The team was coached by Mike Haynie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship, and Larry Bennett, the Whitman Professor of Entrepreneurial Practice.
