SU Student Business Wins Multi-Million Dollar Contract with the U.S. Army.

Defenshield, Inc., a team that was a finalist in the 2003 Panasci Business Plan Competition, has received a $6 million + contract with the U.S. Army to deliver units of its protective barrier, known as the Mobile Defensive Fighting Position.

Defenshield is a developer of bullet- and blast-resistant products. The Fighting Position is a barrier that has been deployed everywhere from Iraq to federal courthouses and comes in several different models.

“We’re pleased to be able to assist the U.S. Army in getting these life-saving devices into the battlefield quickly,” Collins White, president of Defenshield, said in a statement. “Defenshield [barriers] have been used in combat and are an effective tool to harden entry-control points, allowing return fire from a place of security and safety.”
