Welcome to the SSIC!

SSIC Picture The South Side Innovation Center (SSIC) provides office space and equipment for new ventures to be created and to grow. Located in a modern facility in Syracuse's South Side, the SSIC serves as a small-business resource center. We host training programs, provide advice on individual business plans, and offer access to mentors and professional contacts-all in an energized environment of entrepreneurial activity.

SSIC is available to small-business entrepreneurs in need of a professional work environment who want help in growing their ventures. Entrepreneurs must also be committed to business development on the South Side and neighboring communities.

El Java Abdul-Qadir a graduate of our inaugural Entrepreneurial Assistance Program Class of 2008-2009 just received a Micro Credit Loan Plus from Cooperative Federal Credit Union. El Java is opening his own martial arts center called Excel Martial Arts Training Center at 600 Nottingham Road in September of 2009.

Shawan East, President of East Environmental Group, LLC founded in July of 2008, was awarded a contract for the Kennedy Square Project for project and air monitoring. Shawan is a tenant of the South Side Innovation Center and a graduate of our inaugural Entrepreneurial Assistance Program Class of 2008-2009.
