Lasso is an online coupon site that will use viral marketing and a Facebook application to help businesses attract customers and help consumers save money. The team earned third place in the competition for their efforts. Their capstone instructor was Neil Tarallo, assistant professor of entrepreneurship.

Team members are Michael Loiacono, Neel Patel, Ryan Maybee, Alana Tendler, and Kristine Mallon. Alex
McKelvie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship, was their capstone professor.

SwaggerDap offers a retail platform for independent clothing designers and struggling fashion brands, taking over the warehousing, e-tail, and shipping functions for clients. Team members are Jemar Souza, John Dwyer, Alex Chung, Lindsay Sigmund, and Courtney Smith. Their capstone course instructor was Neil Tarallo, assistant professor of entrepreneurship.

The team earned the "Perseverance Award" for their strong finish. Their business concept is to provide fresh, healthy meals to American households too busy to take the time for the shopping and prep work that goes into making a nutritious meal or who aren't confident in their own abilities to cook ethnic dishes from around the world. <br><br>
One hundred student teams applied to the 2009 Panasci Business Plan Competition. Of 32 finalists, 12 teams were then selected to compete in the semi-finals, and on April 18 the top four teams competed for $40,000 in seed funding.

The team earned third place and $5,000 in seed money for their business concept, which proposes a cost effective method for eliminating the 520 tons of food waste that supermarkets contribute to landfills annually. Food would be sent to food banks, to farms for livestock consumption, and to anaerobic digesters, which would convert waste to methane and fertilizer.
