Dinesh K. Gauri (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Syracuse University. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of retailing, pricing, branding, marketing analytics, store performance measurement and revenue management for cruise lines. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, Marketing Science, Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management and European Journal of Operational Research. He is the recipient of the Whitman Research Fellow Award (2013-14), Whitman Teaching Innovation Award (2012) and Guttag Junior Faculty Award (2010-2011), Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University. He also received the 2010 Davidson Honorable Mention Award for the Best Article published in Journal of Retailing in 2008. He has been recognized as an Emerging Thought Leader in Retailing in 2008 and 2010. Also, he received the best doctoral dissertation proposal award from the Fordham University Pricing Center in 2006 and an honorable mention award for the Levy and Weitz doctoral dissertation proposal competition sponsored by the AMA Retailing SIG and the Miller Center for Retailing at University of Florida in 2005. He served as co-chair of the Retailing and Pricing Track for the American Marketing Association (AMA) Summer Educators' Conference (August 2010) held in Boston, MA. He was the co-chair of session on Quantitative Research on Retailing & Pricing for the Summer Educators' American Marketing Association's (AMA) Conference held in Chicago in 2009 and 2012. He also serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of Retailing and Journal of Business Research.He has been cited in various media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Post Standard, San Francisco Chronicle and National Public Radio.
