Wiklund receives Entrepreneurship Mentor Award from Academy of Management
Johan Wiklund, professor of entrepreneurship in the Whitman School, was presented with the Entrepreneurship Mentor Award at this year’s Academy of Management (AOM) meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The award recognizes distinguished service to the field of entrepreneurship in developing a new generation of academics and is presented by the Entrepreneurship Division of the AOM in years when they are able to find a worthy candidate. The award was last presented in 2009.Wiklund has been at Whitman since 2008. His research output has been prolific since, appearing in leading entrepreneurship and management journals. He was one of SU’s first eProfessors, and received the Whitman Faculty Research Award earlier this year.
“Among the awards I have received, this is by far the award I value the highest,” he says. “Working with Ph.D. students is very special and meaningful, and being recognized for it feels great.”
The nomination was initiated by current Whitman Ph.D. student Sharon Simmons, who solicited support letters from around the world and coordinated the nomination process.
