Whitman Entrepreneurial Idea Award
Supporting student entrepreneurs with innovative ideas
The Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship's Syracuse University Whitman Entrepreneurial Idea Award is sponsored by Jeffrey A. Linowes '77, co-founder and principal of The Ad Solution, Inc.
We are looking for the next great business idea from Whitman School of Management students who have recently started or who plan to start their own venture. A cash prize of $2,000 will be given to the student/team that best fits the criteria listed below.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive the Idea Award:
- Students earning a degree from the Whitman School of Management (major or minor) at the undergraduate level
- Entrants must complete a two-page pitch proposal outlining: what the idea is (product/service), and why will the product/service be successful; application should include a marketing plan, overall strategy for success, and how this will be better or different if there is a similar product/service on the market,
- Winner must attend the annual Entrepreneurship Awards Ceremony that will be held at the Whitman School of Management
- You may enter as a team or an individual
Application
Please submit your 2-page pitch proposal and cash flow statement as outlined above in 'Eligibility' by March 28th via e-mail to eeeinfo@syr.edu as a PDF.
The award winner will be notified by April 8th. Finalists may be interviewed by members of the Idea Award search committee.
Seed money
Thanks to a donation from Jeffrey A. Linowes '77, Whitman is able to award $2,000 in startup/seed money to the new venture idea that represents the best potential for growth and development and exhibits creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
