Admission Requirements
Admission to our iMS Supply Chain Management program is highly selective. Applicants who meet the minimum criteria are not automatically admitted to the program.
To be considered for admission, an applicant must possess at a minimum:
- A relevant bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university, and/or master’s degree
- Significant relevant work experience
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required as part of the application process. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) may be required for applicants whose native language is not English.
No formula is employed in admission decision-making. Candidates are evaluated individually, with special consideration given to professional experience and accomplishments, including potential for career growth and advancement. Other factors considered are the candidate's prior academic success, and communication skills as evidenced in the application essays and the required admission interview.
Historically, one of our greatest strengths has been the diversity of its student body. We continue to seek candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, social, academic, and professional backgrounds and career goals.
International Applicants
All international applicants (non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. permanent residents) must follow the application procedures described in ‘Application Details.’ There are two additional requirements that may apply to international applicants.
TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)
Our iMS Supply Chain program requires students to engage in group discussions, class participation, and oral presentations. In order to be successful in this program, students must possess a high proficiency in written and oral English.
All applicants must request the testing center to send a current official score report to Syracuse University. Applicants may also upload a copy of their unofficial score to their online application.
When ordering your test scores please select the Whitman iMBA or use the following codes: TOEFL (institution code: 2823, department code: 02) and for PTE Academic (5LD-BQ-36).
Student Visa
The iMS Supply Chain program requires three residency weeks per year of enrollment. It is possible that international iMS Supply Chain students will need a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) to apply for a (F-1) Student Visa in order to attend residencies. Although a visa may not be necessary, individuals from Canada, Mexico, and adjacent islands are also subject to this requirement and may need the Form I-20 to enter the U.S. Please note that immigration law prohibits individuals with B-2 Tourist Visas from studying in an academic program. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the The Slutzker Center for International Services.
