No formula is employed in admission decisions. The Whitman Admissions Committee seeks to develop a thorough understanding of each applicant before rendering a decision. Candidates are evaluated individually, with special consideration given to professional experience and accomplishments, including potential for career advancement. Other factors considered include prior academic success, performance on GMAT, and communication skills as evidenced in the application essay.
Work experience is preferred, but not required for admission. We do accept qualified candidates without work experience who possess, among other criteria, exceptionally strong academic backgrounds, demonstrated leadership and a strong potential for success in business.
Historically, one of our greatest strengths has been the diversity of our student body. We continue to seek candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, social, academic, and professional backgrounds and career goals.
