Whitman MBA Students Compete in Rutgers Case Competition

In April, three MBA students in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University participated in the student case competition hosted by the Center for Supply Chain Management in the Rutgers Business School at the State University of New Jersey.

The case, “From Farm to Cup: The Coffee Supply Chain in Kenya,” analyzed the plight of the coffee farmers who have witnessed a once vibrant coffee sector wither away due in part to an inefficient supply chain.

The Whitman team, comprised of Rony Funes Chirinos ’10, Harsha Punwani ’10, and Jehal Shah’10, competed against teams from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, Rutgers, University of Delaware, Lehigh University, and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Whitman’s team earned $250 in the competition.
