Investment CEO to Lecture at Whitman School

The Ballentine Investment Institute in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University is pleased to announce that Ben Plotkin, CEO of Ryan Beck & Co., will lecture on “Value Investing in the Banking Industry” on Oct. 12t at 12:30 p.m. in Room 404. All students, faculty, and staff interested in the investment area are invited to attend.

This is one in a series of seminars designed for The Orange Value Fund and students participating in the Applied Portfolio Management Independent Study Program. The lecture will take place during the “Value/Distress Investing” class, taught at Whitman by Fernando Diz, the Martin J. Whitman Associate Professor of Finance and director of the Ballentine Institute.

Founded in 1946, Ryan Beck & Co. is a full service investment banking firm and the leader in Mutual Savings Banks conversions. Plotkin has been the CEO of Ryan Beck & Co. since January 1997. Previously, he was Ryan Beck & Co.’s Senior Executive Vice President and Executive Vice President.
