Students in Whitman School to Compete in Stock Pitch Competition

On April 26-27, students from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will compete in the 2008 Stock Pitch Competition, organized and hosted by the Johnson School at Cornell University. Sophomores Brian Scasserra, Gary Stefanski, and Brandon Goodnow, will represent the Whitman School in the challenge, competing against teams from Cornell, New York University, the University of Chicago, Dartmouth, and Penn State.

The Stock Pitch Competition requires teams to research a specific stock and create a presentation to recommend buying, holding, or selling that stock. The teams compete for $500 in prize money. The competition is sponsored by the Deutsche Bank, and the judging panel will be executives from Deutsche Bank, Platinum Grove Asset Management, and IBM’s pension fund.
