Future Leaders Program

The Future Leaders Program is a seven-month high school to college pipeline program hosted by the Whitman School of Management’s faculty, staff and students. The key focus is to engage and assist high school students from historically underrepresented minority and economically disadvantaged communities.

The student will meet one Saturday a month to participate in a comprehensive curriculum of college SAT preparation, professional development and key leadership skill building. The students will be paired with Whitman business student mentors to assist them through the college preparation, entrepreneurship and/or professional development journey.

The students will be exposed to a variety of professional speakers, Whitman alumni of color and faculty in the management discipline.

The Whitman School will collaborate with external community partners: The YMCA, Say Yes to Education and The Image Initiative, Inc.® Program recruiters will also include the Boys and Girls Club of Syracuse and The YMCA Teen Achievers Program.

There is no participation fee for the high school students. Whitman’s Office of Institutional Culture will seek grants and funding from corporate and other non-profit organizations that share the mission of advancing access and opportunity to our society's most underserved youth.
