Career Education Workshops

Our staff develops, sponsors and teaches career-related educational classes, offering you instruction on pertinent issues for a business-focused job search.  These workshops include, but are not restricted to, resume development, business correspondence writing, networking, and interviewing.  Programming is offered throughout the academic year.

Personal Coaching Sessions

Our counseling team is available by appointment to discuss issues related to career search.  These one-one coaching appointments provide the opportunity for you to refine communication skills or develop a career search strategy, thereby setting the foundation for a highly successful job search.

Job Posting Board/Corporate Contacts

The Syracuse University online job posting board, Handshake, lists information related to job postings for all Syracuse students, and offers a career search management system. You have the ability to apply to job postings; and specialty resume books are developed on this system, which are shared with national recruiters. All Syracuse University students can access the system directly through your MySlice account.

On-Campus Recruiting and Career Fairs

We invite employers to recruit students through career fairs and personal meetings.  These events take place through the fall and spring semesters, which coincides with recruiting cycles for corporations. Application and registration is completed through the Handshake system or via MySlice.

National Databases

The Bird Library, in partnership with the Whitman School, maintains a variety of subscriptions to database resources that afford students detailed, in-depth information about industries, companies and contacts.  The business librarian specializes in business topics, and is available to tutor students on relevant resources available at the Bird Library.
