Daniel D'Aniello '68

Daniel D’Aniello is a founding partner and managing director of The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm. Prior to forming Carlyle in 1987, D’Aniello was vice president for finance and development at Marriott Corporation, where he was responsible for valuation of all major mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity offerings, and project financings. Before joining Marriott, he was a financial officer at Pepsico and TWA. D’Aniello graduated from the Whitman School of Management in 1968 and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

D’Aniello is a member of the Council for the United States and Italy, the Lumen Institute, the U.S.-China CEO and Former Senior Officials’ Dialogue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of AlpInvest, N.V., and the Board of Trustees of the American Enterprise Institute for Public Research.

For Syracuse University, D’Aniello is also a member of the Chancellor’s Council, the Society of Fellows and the Board of Trustees Advancement and External Affairs committee.
