Tracy Barash ’89 is the vice president of marketing for Turner Sports, a division of WarnerMedia. In this role, Barash leads the overall consumer marketing team and marketing operations across all Turner Sports properties including the NBA, MLB, NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and B/R Live. She is responsible for the development of overall vision, strategic direction and goals, competitive positioning and multi-platform strategies to increase consumer engagement and retention for content, products, brands and programming.

Barash was previously the vice president of global franchise management for Cartoon Network, developing and managing strategic plans for key network brands such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and We Bare Bears to maximize revenue across platforms for long-term growth. She worked with regions globally to align plans and grow brands for impact and longevity. Barash also served as vice president of brand development for Cartoon Network and Boomerang, playing a leadership role on the Cartoon Network and Boomerang global rebrands and Cartoon Network’s pro-social marketing programs, including the award-winning Stop Bullying: Speak Up.

Previously at Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), Barash was director of global-themed entertainment. She was a key member of the team that launched The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and managed the development of Harry Potter: The Exhibition global museum tour. As director of worldwide marketing for WBCP, Barash managed the development of brand strategy, marketing plans and materials supporting the merchandise programs for Harry Potter and other family-targeted theatrical and television properties.

Before Warner Bros., Barash served as a brand director for Diageo, the global leader in beverage alcohol, where she oversaw marketing strategy and execution for brands such as Smirnoff Vodka, Malibu Rum and Jose Cuervo Tequila. During her tenure, she served as a director of portfolio marketing and as director of national brand marketing for Baileys Irish Cream.

Barash has her MBA in marketing from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta and served nine years on the Goizueta Alumni Board. Her bachelor’s degree is in business from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, where she serves as a member of the Whitman Advisory Council. Barash is a past president of the Syracuse University Alumni Association Board and a former member of the Board of Trustees.
