Dr. Fatma Sonmez-Leopold is an assistant teaching professor of finance. She earned a B.S. in mathematics from Hacettepe University in Ankara-Turkey and two M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics and Engineering Management/Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara-Turkey. With a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Toronto, she most recently was an assistant professor of finance at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Her teaching and research interests include empirical asset pricing, investments, corporate finance, behavioral finance and household finance. She will teach investment, fixed income and introductory finance courses.
