Michael Wamp is a founding member and the managing partner for LakeWater Capital, an investment management company headquartered in Skaneateles, NY and a founding member and managing partner of HighTower LakeWater, a wealth management company headquartered in Buffalo, NY. He has more than 25 years of institutional investing experience at both large sell-side investment banks and small specialized buy-side investment managers. His investment focus and expertise is identifying inefficiencies in capital structures of investment grade and non-investment grade companies and utilizing both debt and equity instruments to take advantage of these inefficiencies. Michael is also proficient in asset allocation portfolio models, advising companies on M&A transactions and implementing efficient capital structures for company growth and expansion. Prior to forming LakeWater in 2009, Michael was a managing partner and fund manager for Talon Total Return Partners, a limited partnership specializing in stressed debt investments. Previously, Michael spent 10 years working on the High Yield trading desks at investment banks including UBS, Lehman Brothers and BancBoston Robertson Stephens.

Michael Wamp received a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Rochester and an M.B.A. in Finance from the William E. Simon School at the University of Rochester. ersonally, Michael and his wife Julia have lived in Skaneateles for 15 years with their three children, Nick, age 16, Max, age 15 and Elizabeth age 14. Michael is currently a Board Member of the Central New York Community Foundation and serves on the Finance and Investment Committee. In addition, he is the founder of the Skaneateles Youth Football League and Skaneateles Football Club, which runs local camps for youth to teach the game of football. Michael & Julia are both active members of Skaneateles Country Club and St. Mary's Church of the Lake, where Julia serves on the Parish Council. Together, they are founding members of the Alive! Foundation, a local not-for profit organization focused on empowering cancers survivors.
