Dr. Dayne Morkel began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, working for the firm in New York, London, and Hong Kong. He has subsequently held Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer roles at various organizations, most recently leading a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded initiative to drive global health innovation in Africa. Professor Morkel is now President & CEO of a US-based Foundation, and serves on the board of several start-up, healthcare, and non-profit companies. Professor Morkel holds a Ph.D. in Finance and is a CFA Charterholder. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business (Finance) degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Florida, and holds an MBA with distinction from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. Professor Morkel has lectured on the topics of finance and investment in several countries and has a particular interest in derivatives and impact investment.
