Celebrate Whitman International Week 2013 November 11-15

Today marks the beginning of the 2013 Whitman International Festival, which is held in association with the Keibach Center and Whitman Graduate Student Organization. The festival is a week-long celebration of the cultural diversity of Whitman’s student body, and will feature exciting cultural activities, prizes and culinary creations from across the globe. Below is a detailed schedule and information about the week’s events:
November 11 - 14 (Monday - Thursday)
Online Trivia Fun: You will receive an email from us in which we will ask a couple of questions related to a specific country every day throughout the week. Whether you are a student, professor or staff, this will be an excellent test of your “International Knowledge.” The first person to get the right answer will be the winner for that day.
November 12 - 13 (Tuesday - Wednesday)
International Olympics 2013:
USA or the rest of the World? We will be playing basketball, soccer, and cricket. It is a fun but competitive atmosphere, so try and win these games for your teams. These sports will be played at the Women’s Building. Be sure to round up a team and sign up for some friendly, athletic competition.
November 14 (Thursday)
Whitman’s Got Talent 2013:
While some students may be busy hitting the books, others will be showing off their true talents in this competition. 7:00PM onwards at Grand Flaum Hall. People will display their talents in all areas, including singing and dancing. If you want to compete against, make sure to register by 11:59 pm on November 7. Join us at 7:00 pm in the Flaum Grand Hall to cheer on the participants and witness their talents.

Whitman’s X Factor 2013: For the first time ever, Whitman International Festival will host the Whitman X Factor. The competition will feature not only students, but also professors and administrators that may have talent worth flaunting. Talent has no limits meaning participants can sing, dance, rap, or perform comedy just to name a few. Come experience the diverse talents of the Whitman school at 7:00 pm in the Grand Hall.

November 15th (Friday)
Whitman World Tour 2013 at 10:30 in the Grand Flaum Hall: Take a short world tour within Whitman. The event will be fun and will include souvenirs for participants to take home. It is a can’t-miss event and is a great way to experience a piece of several different countries around the world.
Whitman World on Your Platter 2013: No celebration is truly a celebration unless there is food, and at the International Festival there will be food from all over the world. Join us for an exclusive food festival at 12:30 pm in the Flaum Grand Hall. We will have eight different cuisines from around the world for everybody to sample. This will mark the end of a great week at the Whitman International Festival 2013.
