JD/MBA Program
LAW+ BUSINESS= OPPORTUNITY
The College of Law is the primary school for students enrolled in a joint degree program at Syracuse University. Students must complete their first year of law school and earn a cumulative 2.50 grade point average to be approved and matriculate into their selected joint degree program. For a joint degree in Business Administration, you will earn 72 law credits plus 42 approved MBA credits. Both programs must be completed within four years. Students seeking dual degrees must apply to both programs separately, and admission to the College of Law does not guarantee admission to the Whitman School MBA program.
J.D./Master of Business Administration
Business and industry must take public and private law into account in all decisions. The College of Law and the Whitman School of Management have responded by creating joint degree programs in business administration. Students may obtain a J.D. and MBA in four years instead of the five years necessary when both programs are pursued separately. This program is particularly appropriate for students with career objectives in corporate law, tax law, or labor law. Students may pursue general management programs or specialize in accounting, business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and supply chain management.
The JD/MBA joint program requires a total of 114 credits to complete both degrees. When pursued separately, 141 total credits are required.

“Choosing to do the dual JD/MBA program was a great choice for me. It allowed me the advantage of having business knowledge in my career as an attorney. I will be
able to understand situations from an entirely different perspective and will be able to provide better and more services to my clients."
