Whitman/College of Arts and Sciences Dual Program

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) “Job Outlook 2015” report, there will be an overall 8.3% increase in college graduate hiring with employers reporting business, engineering and computer and information sciences majors in highest demand. In addition, graduates who hold degrees in math and sciences represent the fourth interest group with a 38.4% hiring rate.

Corporations within industry categories that demonstrate interest in hiring individuals with a dual education in science and business, and offer leadership development programs and internship programs include those in the pharmaceutical, medical devices and biopharm/biotech industries.

The Whitman/College of Arts and Sciences dual program will equip you with the essential skills necessary to become an effective business leader and scientist, giving you an edge in a competitive job market.

You may apply directly to the dual program as an incoming first-year student when applying to Syracuse University or you can apply to add the dual program later as an enrolled Syracuse University student. You will select one major from the Whitman School and one of four specified science majors from the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Students must fulfill the degree requirements for both schools and complete a minimum of 142 credits. After completing the program, students receive a bachelor’s degree (one diploma) awarded by both schools.
