Whitman Academic Support

We are committed to supporting Whitman students in their academic journey by providing a variety of resources.

Learning Strategist: Whitman’s in-house Learning Strategist, Xavier Norgbey, works one-on-one with students to help identify their individual learning styles and provide support in developing academic skills in areas such as time management, organization, study techniques, and test-taking strategies. Appointments can be made with Xavier directly through Orange Success or by contacting your Whitman advisor.

Tutoring: Through the Whitman Learning Center, Whitman students are able to receive free peer-to-peer subject tutoring in some of Whitman’s core subjects such as statistics, finance, and accounting. Students are able to view available tutors in their “Support Network” and schedule an appointment directly through Orange Success.

For non-Whitman courses, we encourage students to utilize the University’s Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS) group tutoring opportunities. To view this semester’s sessions and to sign up to attend, please visit the CLASS Group Tutoring Page.

Interested in one-on-one support? The Whitman Undergraduate Program is able to provide students with up to a $100 voucher to be used toward an individual tutor offered through CLASS. More details will be available at the start of the Spring 2024 semester.  Questions can be directed to your Whitman academic advisor.
